Children's lighting
When designing lighting there are many stages and effects to be considered, the sizing of a shade versus the base, the colour schemes, the room end use and most importantly the light and shade that your design will create in its
chosen space...when designing children's lighting a new, more emotional set of considerations emerge.
We, at The Bespoke Boutique, have just finalised our first children's collection and during our research and development stages we found ourselves being transported back in time to the lights in our rooms as children. The memories of enchanting and fun shades, reading under the covers with torches, night lights that were always kept on creating a safe, cosy and fun environment. Its amazing how we could both clearly remember which lamps and nightlights we had next to our own beds.
On top of this we talked to parents and children and it became clear that, to both, creating a safe, fun, familiar light to take pride of place right next to the bed, their sleepy heads and their favourite toys is the main objective.
A light that they may look at when falling into a dreamy sleep or when they are struggling to nod off when their young minds are still racing after an active day.
We are so excited to launch our Funfair collection in the New Year. Our children’s lamps capture the essence of the funfair and the big top circus as well as being super stylish. Fun for the children and perfect for parents that have passion for design and want this reflecting throughout the house.
As Christmas is right upon us here is our round up of the best children’s lights out there now. They make very thoughtful and special Christmas presents and will probably be remembered long after the little ones have grown up. Happy Christmas everyone!
No child (or adult) can resist a cute animal so one that lights up remains a classic. These British made animal lamps from White Rabbit England are contemporary and cute at the same time. We are a sucker for dogs so the puppy table lamp is our favourite.
Perfect for a toddler right through to a teenager this fairground light from Goodwin & Goodwin will make a fun impact in any bedroom or playroom
This next one is truly fabulous and really does define the term “ceiling light” from Scottish based lighting designers John Moncrieff
